Reports

Windows Computer General Performance

When troubleshooting performance problems there are typically a set of "go to" performance counters that should be checked first. This report contains counters that represent processor, memory, page file, disks, and network.

Windows Computer Logical Disks Performance

Poor disk performance is often the cause of "hidden" slow performance; this report contains the key counters to examine disk performance

Windows Computer Full Page Counter

There are many performance counters collected for a server and it's sub-objects. This report allows you to select the PerfMon Object, Counter, and Instance (if available) to present a full page graph.

!!Collected Performance Counters 2
It may be hard to know what exactly is getting collected due to multiple objects and multiple management packs. This report looks at the performance counters that are being collected for a selected computer. The report can be used to discover what objects are not being discovered or even to look into what counters can be disabled in order to lessen the Operations Manager's databases IO and size.

Datawarehouse Configuration

Within the SCOM console some important information is not listed for the configuration of the datawarehouse. The Connected Management Groups section shows all management groups that are utilizying the datawarehouse. It is possible to have connected and non-connected management groups share the same datawarehouse. I have seen occasions where an upgrade has created a "new management group" in the datawarehouse do to other failures. To remedy the problem you can update the guid values in the database (this is unsupported by Microsoft).

The Grooming Configuration shows the values set for the grooming the datawarehouse (purging old information).

Granting Rights After Import - EXECUTE permission was denied

In low rights environments, the datawarehouse reader account does not have rights to the created stored procedures. If you receive "EXECUTE permission was denied" when trying to run a report, you will need to execute the below to grant the needed permissions.

GRANT EXEC ON [dbo].[sp_syscentered_collectedperfmoncounters_formanagedentity] TO OpsMgrReader
GRANT EXEC ON [dbo].[sp_syscentered_managedentity_fortype] TO OpsMgrReader
GRANT EXEC ON [dbo].[sp_syscentered_managedentity_fortypename] TO OpsMgrReader
